For this book reflection I chose How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams. The
general theme of the book is if you develop good systems and do them over and
over again then you’ll eventually get lucky then you’ll be successful and make
a lot of money. This book connected with me and it enhanced my learning with principles
of entrepreneurship by showing the important steps in becoming a successful person
in today’s world from being incredible passionate about what you do and not
letting failures define who you are. It is important to get through those
failures and eventually your going hit big and make it. Also, the author is
said to maximize his energy output so that he can get as much work done as
possible while maintaining what he finds important in his life. Moreover, the exercise
that I would develop for this class is to look up a contemporary news source
but not to look for what is true, false or biased, yet to broaden your horizons
in finding something that you are unfamiliar with and maximize your brain
potential. Finally, the biggest ‘aha’ moment in the book is when the author details
that how you look in any situation is important in getting anything done. He says
that even when someone disagrees with you and they are completely wrong it is
essential to look like them and be that confident.
Hello, Austin. I really liked the brief summary that you did about How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big since I didn’t know anything about it. I agree with you about not letting failures define us and always be passionate about what we love and like to do. The exercise that you designed for the class is awesome since it maximizes our brain potential and I love to learn new things every day.
ReplyDeleteHey Austin,
ReplyDeleteI did not read this book for my reflection so it was great to see a different topic in your post. The theme of the book seems a bit unique though. If I understand what you explain the theme to be it seems that there is a message of repetition in the book. Doing the same things over and over and eventually hitting a success. This seems like a tactic that would require stamina in failure. That would be a hard road to walk for me. However, I do understand the way that this author would find this option as a great possibility.

Hey Austin,
ReplyDeleteI think you made a great selection with the book you chose for this assignment, it sounds interesting and I see you applying a lot of the knowledge you learned from it in this class and other assignments. As for the assignment you made based on the book, I believe it is a fun activity to do since people can learn about things that they are unfamiliar with and perhaps develop new interests from this experience. Great job!
